CMP Carnival
The CMP carnival is a joint effort between the CMP authors and CMP teachers. It was originally designed to be part of a CMP parent night. The games are taken or adapted from various units in grades 6, 7, and 8. Playing the games illustrate some of the mathematical understanding and reasoning that students develop during the year in the areas of number, geometry and probability.
We have written rules and guidelines for each of the games as well as a suggestion for awarding points and prizes. Most schools allow one small table for game. Teachers and students take turns running the games.
It has become a tradition to offer the CMP Carnival during the summer Getting To Know CMP Workshop.
