Problem Centered

This section explains the meaning of a "Problem-Centered" curriculum, the rationale behind the authors' decision to use this approach in developing CMP, and the research that informs and guides this development. A role for parents and guardians is described.

Communication

This section explains the theory and research that guides the authors' emphasis on providing opportunities for communication in CMP, and for the use of collaborative groups in some problems. A role for parents and guardians is described.

Math Content by Strand

The 24 units in CMP2, and the 3 auxiliary units from CMP1, comprise a complete middle school curriculum, covering 4 mathematical strands: Algebra, Data and Probability, Geometry and Measurement, Number. This section describes the contents of the 4 strands.
