Promoting Middle School Mathematics Learning and Engagement with Digital Curriculum Resources
The National Science Foundation awarded two large grants totaling 4.5 million dollars to Michigan State University and The Concord Consortium to help explore new possibilities for CMP classrooms. Both projects aim to develop a digital collaborative environment for students and teachers using the Connected Mathematics middle grades curriculum projects.
Researchers also seek to understand how students collaboratively explore problems and make sense of the mathematics problems by developing and testing "just-in-time" supports. These supports help students increase access to and maintain the challenge of mathematics problems.
