Yvonne Grant, Michigan State University & Portland Public Schools
Room Big Ten BC
Keynote Talk - Arc of Learning: Making the Curriculum Design Transparent
The Arc of Learning framework was designed to describe the development of mathematics understanding provided by the sequence of problems in a CMP unit. This framework moves the learning focus beyond the analysis of isolated tasks to consider the role of a problem and its location in an instructional sequence for promoting mathematical learning. The discussion is designed to help us boost student learning, pacing, and assessing.
