I am Merve Nur Kursav and pursuing my Ph.D. degree in PRIME at Michigan State University (MSU). I received my M.A. degree at the University of Georgia as a Fulbright Scholar.  I received double BA degree – one in Elementary Mathematics Education and another in Psychological Guidance and Counseling–and have been actively involved in a variety of projects. I also worked as a teaching assistant and instructor of record in mathematics classes.

My research interests center around investigating the role of innovative methods in teaching, learning, students’ thinking, and enhancement and developing of curriculum materials. With this mind, my research program focuses on establishing and promoting innovative instructional methods and unique applications of innovative instructional methods for students’ outcomes including students’ and teachers’ performance, commitment and engagement.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, going to live music, and writing poems. I am very excited to a part of CMP at MSU.
