Connected Mathematics 3 (CMP3) students focus on problem-solving strategies, habits of mind, and mathematical proficiency. CMP3 supports both teachers and students in building these skills, and continues this support with these new resources.
A Look at this year's CMP Summer Workshops
June 20 marked the kick off of the 21st annual Getting to Know CMP Workshops and the newly created Digging Deeper into CMP Workshop. Both workshops focused on enhancing mathematics education structure for middle school students. This year participants attended from 20 states and three foreign countries.

CMP Attended MCTM
CMP attended the 2016 MCTM Conference in July at Traverse City, Michigan.
The talks included:
- Formative Assessment as an Embedded Teaching Practice in Problem-Based Learning;
- Assessments in Variables and Patterns, Connected Math, Grade 6, Algebra Strand;
- Using a Wide Range of Instructional Strategies to Reach the Needs of All Students
A Farewell to Funda, Nic, and Scooter
This summer CMP bid a bitter sweet farewell to Funda Gonulates, Nic Gilbertson and Scooter Nowak. Funda accepted a position at Northern Kentucky University; Nic a position at Winona University in Wisconsin; and Scooter moved to Flagstaff, Arizona.
They each brought something special to CMP and we will miss them all very much.
