Jeopardy-Like Game Show for CMP Classrooms
Background
This is a powerpoint version of the Math Fever game from the Grade 7 Unit, Accentuate the Negative. The powerpoint was created for the CMP2 version of the MathMania. It was inteded to review topics prior to Accentuate the Negative as a way for the class to explore getting "negative" and "positive" points. The current powerpoint includes the following topics from Grades 6 and 7:
- Operations with Fractions
- Similarity
- Probability
- Area and Perimeter
- Factors and Multiples
Description
This powerpoint is set-up nicely to play a game that is like "Jeopardy". It was created by a teacher and sent to CMP for use in CMP classes. It is designed so that teachers could add other mathematical concepts to correspond with other Units such as Linear Relationships, Volume and Surface Area, Operations with Rational Numbers, Ratio and Propotion, Shapes and Congruence, Exponential Functions, Quadratic Functions, Symbol Sense, etc.
Purpose
This can be used during or at the end of a Unit or as a review at the end of the year. The categories, questions, and answers can all be changed so teachers can adapt the game to the needs of their students.
