# CMP Math Fever with a Twist

A new idea for how to creatively adapt the CMP Math Fever game. This new idea for challenging students to create questions came from a CMP teacher.

**Choose new categories. **Choose categories by Unit, Content, Grade, or to review a previous grade.

An example for Grade 8 end of a Unit (Looking for Pythagoras), you might pick categories:

- Area
- Square Roots
- Irrational Numbers
- Pythagorean Theorem
- Length of Line Segment on Coordinate Grids
- Measuring Inaccessible Distances
- Types of Triangles

An example for Grade 7 at the end of the first semester, you might pick categories:

- Angles
- Geometric Shapes
- Add & subtract Integers
- Multiple & Divide Integers
- Similarity
- Scaling

An example for Grade 6 end of year, you might pick categories:

- Fractions
- Factors and Multiples
- Ratios
- Algebra
- Operations
- Estimation
- Percent
- Measurement
- Data

**Give a category to a group of students**. For the category, the group must generate five questions with answers. The questions
and answers need to be written so they fit the game format. They must be short, easy
to read, and answerable in the game situation.

A student must assign a point value to the questions

- 50 point
- 100 point
- 150 point
- 200 point
- 250 point
